Entering a new phase.

As your child gets ready for the transition from Kindergarten to Elementary, we have a class for students that have previous school experience.

In our Bridge classes, we focus on building upon the blocks from our Kinder classes. Taking the knowledge and social skills gained through play and improving them with critical thinking, experimentation, and more independent learning.

We spend a lot of our time in Bridge learning skills that will assist the children greatly when they enter their regular Elementary school classes the following March. Learning a degree of self-sufficiency and willingness to experience new and interesting things goes a long way to making the cliff of a new school seem a lot more climbable.

Teacher to Student ratio

Class sizes are kept small at ASPK to ensure that our students are getting the highest level of attention and care. Each class has two native English teachers and one Korean teacher who focuses on parent consultations throughout the semester.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

In weekly STEM-oriented activities and challenges, our Bridge students solve teacher-provided exercises with very little input from the teachers. The students are allowed to make their own plans, work within limitations of materials or time, and succeed or not on their own decisions.

We teach that something not working is not the same as failure. It’s easy to not have something work the way you want. Learning how to make it work after that setback is the hard part. Instilling that ethic into our students is something we strive for… even when we really want to help them make it perfect!

Confidence in English

Our Bridge level students have been working hard on their English skills and it shows. They all have different strong points, but one universal thing that we want to reinforce in our kids is that they can have confidence in themselves. Learning a second language isn’t easy. Learning in that second language is even harder. The fact that they do it every day is something to be proud of.
