After-school with a difference
For our after-school Elementary program, we know that our children have already had a long day at their normal schools. We go to great lengths to not only make their after-school program educational and help them learn, but also make it a place that they can enjoy and have fun with their friends. Our students have an opportunity to learn from multiple teachers throughout the day, as well as still having access to special clubs and extra activities.
Smaller Classes, Focused Development
Our after-school classes for Elementary are all 8 students and 1 teacher maximum. Rather than follow the kindergarten pattern and allow larger classes by having more teachers in the room, we prefer to focus on smaller class sizes and more specific teacher interactions. This allows the classes to have more opportunity for direct feedback on projects, as well as much more hands-on learning when the teacher is able to spend more time with each student.
After-school Clubs
In addition to our educational offerings, we do have several clubs that we created after seeing how little time some of our students have for fun and creative projects outside of school. Each club is led by a teacher that created the idea for their club due to their own interests and hobbies. As well, these are set in between their normal elementary time and their after-school classes once per week, so it doesn’t eat into their time at home with their families!
