Listening and mimicking sound goes a long way towards making sure that your child comes away with better speaking and listening skills as they continue to develop. We teach our Junior Kinder students how to be great members of the community and how to be good friends and classmates. Not everyone is comfortable standing up in front of a group, but letting them speak and letting them have their own voice from a young age is important. If we can get them to learn some letters along the way, that’s a bonus. We want our little Sprouts friends to grow. To do that, we let them play and we let them get used to being around other little kids their age. We teach them routines like how to wash their hands before snack time, or how to clean up their toys when they’re done. Make it creative With our Blossoms classes, we want to foster the growth of our children’s creativity. Encouraging them to create their own art and their own ideas is both fun and allows them to stretch their own skills. Teaching the children that not everything has to be a flawless work of art to be good, teaching them the value of their own creative process, and teaching them to just have fun. The students are allowed to make their own plans, work within limitations of materials or time, and succeed or not on their own decisions. We teach that something not working is not the same as failure. It’s easy to not have something work the way you want. Learning how to make it work after that setback is the hard part. They all have different strong points, but one universal thing that we want to reinforce in our kids is that they can have confidence in themselves. Learning a second language isn’t easy. Learning in that second language is even harder.
